Great image, awesome idea... minor thought on your technical stats though. Firearms fire off rounds in the hundreds of feet per second, 33 cm per second would be very slow.

Really dig the picture. Would love to see the same style of photomanip done on various firearms.

No problem! The slowness was deliberate to give a feel of obsolete technology, since firearms prior to the 20th century were slower than the ones of today. Though it probably should be somewhat faster, but not as fast as today's firearms?

I can give you the average fps of a brown bess rifle using rev war powder if you don't mind waiting till the family re-enacter gets in for the holidays. You could probably find out online but my brief search only turned up modern powders which, yes... will be faster than the old stuff. But you're probably still looking at several hundred feet per second.
:iconmythecaria:
That's fine! My usual source for specific firearms stats is better-versed in modern firearms, he's a little foggy on older weapons.

ok... rev war black powder weapon using same period powder would have a muzzle velocity of 900-1000 feet per second. That is much slower than modern weapons.

Hope that gives you a good gauge on muzzle velocity.

Great! Thank you so much for the info!
